Help us save our collections

Collection care and conservation is a major part of our work and allows us to maintain the city’s collections for future generations to enjoy.

Our conservation team works on repairing and maintaining our collection on a daily basis. Unfortunately, at present they are unable to conserve many of our works on paper and oils on canvas due to the lack of a suction table, a specialist piece of equipment.

Manchester City Galleries Trust, the charity which supports Manchester Art Gallery, is looking to raise over £26,000 to purchase a suction table, which will allow our conservation team to repair over 200 works in time for an upcoming exhibition in 2010. You can find out more about this appeal by using the links on the right.

Please make a donation

Please help us to raise this money by making a donation. We hope that the majority of the money we will be able to raise through grants. However, we still need to raise over £5,000.

Please give what you can. Whether it’s £2 or £2,000, your money will make a real difference. You can donate online here. Or, you can also download and complete a donation form and send any donations to us by post. If you are a UK taxpayer then please remember to Gift Aid your donation.

Please make any cheques out to ‘Manchester City Galleries Trust’ and send to:
