Education at Our Other Venues
We offer two exciting workshops at the Gallery of Costume for the Foundation stage and KS1 & KS2
Choose from the following activity sessions, which:
- last 1 hour 45 minutes (maximum)
- include practical activities led by artists/educators
- are cross-curricular in approach and wherever possible, cross-cultural
- are based on the permanent collections and often include current special exhibitions
Investigating Materials
Pupils feel fabrics and textures and decorate a model with beads, belts, collars, cuffs, buttons and bows. Follow the material trail to explore our displays of clothing from different times and cultures.
Once Upon a Time
Pupils explore the world of fairy tales and recreate magical characters by dressing up as princes or princesses. Drawing from what they’ve seen on display, pupils create their own fairytale design.
